Species:
Anodorhynchus hyacinthinus
Description:
The hyacinth Macaw (Anodorhynchus hyacinthinus) is a parrot from the Anodorhynchus genus It is considered the biggest parrot in the world. It has a very strong beak which uses to eat hard seeds and fruit. Its length can reach about one meter, has a wingspan that can reach even 1,5 meters. The plumage is yellow around the eyes and around the bottom part of the beak while the body is usually of a brilliant blue cobalt color. The female spawns two or three eggs in the nest. during the breeding season it is preserved by the male for about 30 days. After birth, the little parrots are cared for 100 more days. During this period, only one baby parrot on three usually survives. Sexual maturity is revealed after four years. In captivity they can survive up to 90 years.
I chose to draw these animals because I find that they are as beautiful as they are nice, they are very attached with each other just like a couple of people and this makes them very tender.
