Descripción: Tardigrades (also known as water bears) are some of the hardiest speicies known to man. After learning about them and doing some further research into species and properties, I came to fall in love with these extremophiles. While my illustration comes close to the scientific illustration category, I have taken some artistic liberties to preserve the organism's texture and try to indicate its chitin-rich cuticle. Moreover, I created this illustration with the nature illustration books I had growing up and how today's children would be fascinated with "water bears" in the same way I was fascinated with regular ones.
