Título: The Nothern Cardinal (Male) - A bird, C. cardinalis
Descripción: The northern cardinal (Cardinalis cardinalis) one of the most recognizable bird of North America. Can be found in southeastern Canada, also occurs in the southwestern U.S. The northern cardinal is a mid-sized songbird. Males are bright red with a black mask and orange beak. Females are duller red or brown.
It's inhabited areas – as backyards, parks, woodlots, and shrubby forest edges.
On this illustration you can see a male red cardinal that is sitting on the branch of holly berries (Ilex decidua) which these bird enjoy much. I chose to draw this bird with holly berries because it is one of the most famous symbol of winter holidays and Christmas. Also this bird is a popular mascot for many sports teams in America.
