For this travel journal page, I painted the Superb Starling using watercolors and photos I took in Kenya as a reference. The different perspectives, distribution map, and landscape were painted separately and then digitally merged into a single composition.
I think that travel journals get to the heart of the illustrator, as they reflect their emotional state.
