Descripción: Agapanthus praecox

Agapanthus praecox is a globally popular garden flower, commonly known as the common Agapanthus, blue lily, African lily, and lily of the Nile. It is indigenous to the KwaZulu-Natal and Western Cape provinces of South Africa and is also referred to by names such as Bloulelie, Isicakathi, and Ubani. This native African plant was introduced to Europe in the 17th century.

The open-faced flowers of Agapanthus praecox bloom in purple, blue, or white from late spring to summer, and the evergreen leaves help to the plant's overall beauty. As a herbaceous perennial, Agapanthus can live for up to 75 years. This plant has been valued since ancient periods in South Africa for its magical and medicinal properties.
