Descripción: I took this photo of falling Bauhinia blakeana blossom after the rain. The color is renewed, and the raindrops on the rounded stigma looked especially splendid, so I couldn't help but draw it.
Bauhinia blakeana is a hybrid of Bauhinia purpurea and Bauhinia variegata. It was imported into Taiwan in 1967. It's the city flower of Chayi city in southern Taiwan. It has 5 obovate petals with distinct venation and 5 to 7 Stamens, which are curving inward along with the pistil that is white and slender with a rounded stigma. The striking purplish and bright flower is as elegant and magnificent as orchids, so it's commonly called Hong Kang Orchid tree. The blooming period is from October to March.

La Bauhinia blakeana es un híbrido de Bauhinia purpurea y Bauhinia variegata. Fue introducida en Taiwán en 1967 y es la flor emblemática de la ciudad de Chiayi, en el sur de Taiwán. La flor tiene cinco pétalos obovados con venación distintiva y de cinco a siete estambres que se curvan hacia adentro junto con el pistilo, que es blanco, delgado y termina en un estigma redondeado. Con sus llamativos tonos púrpuras y brillantes, la flor es tan elegante y majestuosa como las orquídeas, por lo que comúnmente se le conoce como "Árbol de Orquídea de Hong Kong". Su período de floración va de octubre a marzo.
