DESCRIPTION: Chrysis Ignita is a species of cuckoo wasp. It is also known as the ruby - tailed wasp as they have metalic , colorfull and armored boodies . The head and thorax range from a shinny green to blue , layered with golden sheen , and abdomen from red to deep ruby color . Their exoskeletons are textured with dimples , crests and holes. To protect themselves Chrysis Ignita can roll up into balls .In the face of threats they simply ball up and become impenetrable to even the strongest stings and mandibles. Chrisis Ignita is also known from laying their eggs in the nests of other wasp species and their young consume the eggs or larva of the host wasp for sustenance. Their most common host are from the family Eumenidae, or potter wasps, a cosmopolitan wasp that builds its nests from mud. Yon can found that kind of species across the Europe especially at England, Wales, Scotland, and Ireland .
