TITLE: Autumn leaves
TECHNIQUE: graphite on paper
On the left you can see two dry common fig tree (Ficus carica) leaves, one smaller, one bigger, the models were found during a walk in the countryside; in the centre of the illustration there's a branch of Ginkgo biloba leaves, the model was found in the Royal Gardens of the city where I live; on the right you find a oak tree (Quercus robur) leaf, I found the model walking in the countryside as well. Every leaf has been found in real nature and portrayed in still life.
The entire composition has been made in two steps, between autumn and winter of 2014/2015.
I've always been deeply inspired by the Autumn season and fallen leaves, in which I can see poetry, lightness, romanticism; I do also love portraying natural elements because of their details, from whom I feel very attracted.
