This chestnut-brown or reddish-brown beetles with a massive body length of 25-47 mm. the Species exhibits pronounced sexual dimorphism. The males head has a curved back horn, on the front and the back trendupdate transverse elevation. Females on the head have a little horn, resembling a small hill. Adults are active mainly in warm summer evenings. This species is included in several regional Red books of the Russian Federation and is stored in some countries of Western Europe. In the illustration shown beetle male in several stages of development: larva (lower left) C-figuratively curved, thick, pale-yellow, length 8-11 cm, adult (left top) top view with outstretched wings and right. The original natural habitats of rhinoceros beetle are deciduous forests that are presented in this illustration.
