Oriental Dwarf and Rufous Backed Kingfisher
I once made good friends with a Kingfisher at the lake near my home. More than the bird, it was I who was quite intrigued by it. Later learning that the same tiny bird can feed on dozens of fish in a day really amazed me, no wonder the title ‘King’.
I have recently found myself intrigued by various bird species and their built, especially in relation to the terrain they inhabit.
The unique structure of a Kingfisher makes it stand out amongst other birds. I have chosen the Oriental Dwarf Kingfisher and it’s subspecies the Rufous Backed Kingfisher as they remind of the innocence of a sparrow.
