Title:
Kranjska čebela (Carniolan bee)

Species/Element:
Apis Mellifera Carnica

Description:
Carniolan honey bee is a native species of Slovenia. Beekeeping is my family’s tradition, they were not only my childhood pets, as I grew up I used to help around my grandparents in their bee house. Looking at bees makes me feel calm and relaxed, reminding me of the natural cycle of life; they live, they serve their purpose, they reproduce and they die. They are great at defending themselves from insects that try to hurt them, but are not particularly aggressive by nature. I can see how good orientated bees are despite all those bees flying in million directions. Carniolan bees are hardworking and very kind and calm towards their beekeeper.
Honey, one of their products, is not only sweeter but it’s also used as basis of medical and beauty products, they also produce royal jelly, propolis and bee wax. We should never forget how bees are important, not only for their naturally made products but also for their big role in pollination.
