Título:
Eurasian Siskin

Especie o elemento:
Eurasian Siskin (Spinus Spinus)

Descripción:
I observed these Eurasian Siskins in Northern Italy, in winter. The two subjects represented are a male (bottom left, recognizable by the bright colors and the black head) and a female (top right) on a Pawlonia Tree, while, upside down, they try to reach the seeds inside Pawlonia's fruits.
The Eurasian siskin (Spinus spinus Linnaeus, 1758) is a passerine bird in the finch family. It is common in European and Asian regions. It is mainly granivore, although its diet varies throughout the year and the chicks are also fed with small insects. In spring, during the breeding season, they are found in coniferous forests.
