bees from the genus euglossa have an intersting relation with orchids from the genus coryanthes.the bee is attracted by the intense odor of the flower therefore it lands on the hypochifres of the flower and studies the composition of the fragrance.
when the bee flalls or goes to the bottom of the bucket(labeulo), it becomes a prisone in a viscous fluid that is segregated by the plant.and in order to escape from the trap,the bee crawis through a tunnel and consequently take the pollen away with it.
this bee has to fall on a different flower from the same genus to complete the pollination.for this reason this flower is so rare.
