Descripción:
Bonobo (baby) is endemic to the D.R.Congo (about 500 000 km² of the Congo Basin River), in Central Africa. Inhabits forests, including wetlands (as an omnivorous frugivore). He has relatively long legs, pink lips, dark face and tail-tuft through adulthood, and parted long hair on its head. Adult bonobos (M/F) stand at over 4/3 feet tall and weight an average of 85/65 lbs. Bonobo society is peaceful, matriarchal and more egalitarian. Sex transcends reproduction and serves to promote bonding, reduce tensions, and share pleasure (hence the "make love, not war" characterization for the species). Bonobos are one of humankind's closest living relatives, sharing more than 98% of our DNA. These great apes are complex beings with profound intelligence, emotional expression, and sensitivity.
