Helleborus viridis - Adele Pelizzoni
Helleborus viridis L. (Ranunculaceae) is a typical perennial plant of northern Italy.
It blooms from January to March, with yellowish-green flowers and large deep green pedate leaves. All parts of the plant are poisonous.
The plant in the drawing is a specimen from the Botanic Garden of Bologna, and it grows in the mesophile wood, a recreation of the typical habitat of the hills around the Bologna area.
