Description:
Palm Squirrel is very common mammal who living in forests, rural and semi urban areas in Sri Lanka. Sexes are alike in size. the main identifiable character is three prominent dorsal strips. Fruits, nuts, seeds, buds, flowers, young barks and occasionally insects such as beetles as well as grubs include to the diet of a Palm Squirrel. Some of them who are living near human residence, would like to enjoy homemade foods. These little furry guys prefer to play all day with their tails jerking, looping through tangled branches and always hurrying as they have very urgent tasks. They are very curious and active creatures.
