Tangara Multicolor - Catalina Matamoros
The multicolored tanger (Chlorochrysa nitidissima) is a stunning colorful bird endemic from Colombia. It is very well known for his bright and colorful plumage.
The one illustrated here is a male, it has yellow feathers on the crown and the throat. Orange plumage on the sides, and a black patch on the auricular region.
His feathers are greenish yellow on the mantle, and greenish blue on the flanks.
It has a blue purple belly and bright green wings.
A curious fun fact, they love to eat bananas.
