Neovison vison
Description:
American mink is a semi aquatic, higly intelligent and fierce predator. Minks are commonly farmed for their fur, unfortunatelly they have escaped farms and expanded their geographical range. Due to their amazing predatory skills they became a threat to many other species' existence and therefore a hugeproblem when it comes to maintaining ecological balance. They are linked to declines European mink, European water vole and Pyrenean desman populations. That is the reason why in many countries American minks are percieved as invasive species. Illustration I provided depicts American mink (Neovison vison) cranium study in a few projections. Specimen was acquired in accordance with domestic law.
