This drawing is a digitally-generated and drawn representation of a flea. This technique allows a precise manipulation and addition of details at a microscopic scale.
This image consists in the layering of a multitude of observation drawings, reference drawings, 3D modeling images, light simulations and photographs of a flea observed with a light and an electron microscope. Each layer provides different information to the drawing such as light, shadows, refraction, transparency, relief, asperities, hair or textures. By superimposing all this information, this drawing provides an accurate anatomical synthesis of the flea that a hand-drawing would have difficulties communicating.
