Hyacinth Macaw - Ana Luísa Rocha
Ana Luísa Rocha
The bird represented is Hyacinth Macaw (Anodorhynchus hyacinthinus), the largest bird in the macaw family. They have a strong coloration, cobalt blue and a special yellow naked skin around the eyes and lower jaw. These birds are very noisy and social and have a solid, black and curved beak. The beak serves as a suport to knock out hard-shelled fruit, such as nuts, which are its main food.
Blue macaw is classified as a vulnerable because of illegal trade.
I chose to draw them by their particular beauty and to better understand their general form and each of their feathers.
