Species: Pelophylax perezi | Common Name: Green Frog
The green frog is an amphibian whose size varies between 5 and 10 cm, sometimes a little more in females. It features a pointed snout and well developed hind legs. The eardrums are large and visible behind the eyes, with a horizontal pupil.
Smooth or slightly warty back, usually greenish, sometimes with brownish tones, with darker irregular spots and, almost always, a green or light yellow central line.
Excellent swimmer and jumper, jumps over 2 meters. This species remains active throughout the year except during cooler times, when it is buried in the mud or between aquatic vegetation. Its reproduction usually begins in April.
Maximum longevity, 10 years. It can be found throughout the Iberian Peninsula reaching its northern boundary
