Descripción: Depression is often long-term and a challenging condition that can be difficult to treat. Currently depression is commonly treated with SSRI-medication and therapy.
New studies have shown that psilocybin, the active ingredient in so-called "magic mushrooms", can be used as a treatment for depression. Mankind has used psilocybin mushrooms for thousands of years in spiritual ceremonies to achieve altered states of consciousness. Nature continually provides chemical ingredients for medical science.
Psilocybin research inspired me to illustrate different species of "magic mushrooms". Along side with the mushrooms is psilocybin molecule. The black background illustrates depression.
