Description: I have seen this animal two times during my painting trips in the Alps. In summer it has a brown back and head with a white belly. In winter it becomes completely white with the exception of the black tip of the tail, which is also present in summer and one feature to differ it from the least weasel (Mustela nivalis). I just have seen the stoat in summer fur, but while doing the composition it turned out that it would be ideal to add some snow. Stoats can also be seen in a snowy landscape in summer fur and inverted. But in this case I wanted to show the viewer the logical combination.
