Especie: Dodo (Raphus cucullatus)
Descripción: This bird of enormous size, and a distant relative of pigeons, did not possess the ability to fly. Resident of the Mauritius island it became extinct at the end of 1600 due to the colonization of man on the island and from an extinct animal it became the icon of the island. No coincidence that on his coat of arms besides the Sambar there is also the Dodo.
There are numerous description and depictions of its evolution but as often happens not always what we see corresponds to reality. My illustration is a collection of some accessible information of this iconic animal. I focused mainly on the composition of the head: from its strange shape, the claw like beak and its particular color.
