Título: Red swamp crayfish
Especie: Red swamp crayfish
Descripción: "Red swamp crayfish is currently the most invasive crayfish species in Europe. It threatens populations of native crayfish species. It is more aggressive, faster and more successful and it is a carrier of crayfish plague (Aphanomyces astaci), a fatal disease for native species of crayfish. It destroys aquatic vegetation, consumes large invertebrate aquatic species, leading to local extinction of some species. Although it is a thermophilic species, it survives in waters that freeze in winter.
It grows 12 to 15 cm in body length. The most common coloring is red-black with tiny white spots. The carapace is rough on the surface, especially behind the occipital groove. The claws are narrow and the inner edge of the toes is clearly cut out. On the upper side of the claws are markedly thorns."
