Description: This is a palaeolithic Large Cutting stone Tool. The present sophisticated stone tool was evidently shaped by our ancestor, Homo ergaster, and was used to butcher meat, among other purposes. It is made on a metamorphic rock called Gneiss. The stone artefact comes from Africa (Tanzania) and it has been dated to around 1.6 million years old. The drawing is made on ink and shows the two faces (dorsal and ventral) as well as the profile of the tool.
