Title: The Madagascar top predator
Specie: The fossa

Description: Brown coat, long tail, a dog muzzle describes the fossa. The fossa is the largest carnivore and the top predator of Madagascar. Looking at its semi-retractable claws and its tail the fossa could be mistaken for a member of the cat family. They are solitary animals with the exception of mothers with young and brief pairings during the breeding season. The curiosity shown in the drawing is the fossa's very long tail but it's put to good use. While the fossa's head and body is up to 23 to 30 inches it's tail is almost the same size ranging from 22 to 28 inches long. The extremely long tail is very helpful to them while hunting and maneuvering amongst the tree branches. It can wield its tail like a tightrope walker's pole and moves really swiftly through the trees.
