Description: I wanted to portray the nature of the jellyfish in the image by utilising the nature of watercolours. I have captured the flowing, calm and almost spiritual nature of the creature with the limited colour palette of purple (with a touch of blue/yellow and red). I also love the natural textures of watercolours to emphasise the nature of the sea and hopefully to make the artwork look effortless. The light source is above so the jellyfish looks like it is angelically swimming to the surface of the water. I wanted to capture the fluidity of these beautiful and almost otherworldly creatures.
