Descripción: This is an illustration of a beautiful demoiselle, a European damselfly. There are many curious things about this species, that go beyond their iridescent metallic wings which have earned them the adjective "beautiful" in their scientific name. For instance, their eye shape and placement allows them almost a 360 degrees of view. The sensory hairs scattered around their bodies are what's allowing them to experience the world tactilely, while their antennae are primarily responsible for smell.
