Descripción: The red-headed blackbird (Amblyramphus holosericeus) is a medium-sized bird (25 cm long), with contrasting colors, a common feature in the family Icteridae.
Its geographic distribution covers several countries in South America, and in Brazil it can be found in locations in the South, Southeast and Midwest. It lives in flocks, in flooded areas, such as swamps and pastures, where it usually uses the pointed shape of its beak to look for insects and larvae on green stalks. The illustration shows a common habit of this species, which consists of perching on top of trees, on more prominent branches.
