Título: Melopsittacus undulatus
Especie: Melopsittacus undulatus

Descripción: Melopsittacus undulatus weighs from 40 to 45 grams, body length ranges from 17 to 23 cm. The stepped tail, which grows up to 10 cm, visually enlarges the bird. Feathers on the forehead of a male fluoresce under the influence of ultraviolet rays, which affects the choice of a mate by the female. The parrot's beak is very mobile due to the upper jaw, which is connected to the skull only by a tendon ligament. Due to this flexibility and the presence of narrow horny teeth on the inner side of the beak, the beak serves as a mechanism for breaking off and crushing foliage shoots and plant seeds, while at the same time it is a convenient tool for carrying objects, eating and climbing tree branches. Parrots see the world in color. In the wild, these birds are monogamous, they mate for life.
