Título: MORPHOLOGICAL DETAILS OF GORILLA
Especie: Gorilla gorilla

Descripción: Gorilla is the largest of the great apes. It belongs to the Hominidae family, the same as man; however, there are evident morphological characteristics in no way comparable with those of humans.
The bony sagittal crest is very marked: it is formed starting from the parietal bones, develops on the sagittal suture and finally increases in volume in the occiput.
Another feature is the disproportion of the splanchnocranium compared to the neurocranium.
Other noticeable features are the pronounced supra-orbital ridge and the protruding canine teeth.
A structure very similar to the human one is instead that of the hand; the substantial difference lies in sizes and proportions: the bones of Gorilla's hand are much more massive. This is due to Gorilla's locomotion in typical knuckle walking.
