Description: The variable bush viper is endemic to the jungles of West and Central Africa, living in moist terrestrial and arboreal habitats. While it is most commonly known by its green to brown coloration, the viper is also capable of producing very showy color morphs. The range of colours is wide and goes from bright yellow to red and even to slate grey and black. This has made the species a popular pet for reptile enthusiasts. Fig.1: Lateral view of head.
