Título: THE PROKARYOTIC CELL
Especie: THE PROKARYOTIC CELL

Descripción: Prokaryotic cells (such as bacteria) are smaller in size than eukaryotic cells.
The structure of the prokaryotic cell is simpler than that of the eukaryotic cell. Also, the nucleus is absent in this type of cell. Within the cell, DNA is stored at the nucleotide level. In some cases, an additional ring of DNA known as a plasmid is present.
The plasma membrane of the prokaryotic cell contains the cytoplasm, in which are immersed the ribosomes, organelles with functions very similar to those performed in the eukaryotic cell.
A fundamental characteristic of the prokaryotic cell is the presence of the cell wall, an external barrier that defines its shape and protects it from damage.
Many bacteria have protein structures called flagella (long) and pili (short), appendages that project outward f
