Descripción: Esta ilustración representa las increíbles relaciones simbióticas entre las plantas carnívoras de los nepentes y otros animales. Algunas adaptaciones notables son, por ejemplo, entre Nepenthes hemsleyana (fig b.) y el murciélago de Kerivoula hardwickii (fig a.) que utiliza la planta como lugar para resguardarse a la noche, mientras que la planta recoge nitrógeno de los excrementos del murciélago. Aquí se representan otros tipos de relaciones mutualistas como la que hay entre N. bicalcarata (fig c.) e C. schmitzi (fig d.). En la figura (e.) y (f.) se puede ver la llamada nepentes infauna, una variedad de organismos como la larva de mosquitos y la araña del cangrejo (Misumenops nepenthicola), robando de la planta de lanzadora. También los cangrejos (Geosarma sp.) se aventuran dentro de los lanzadores para coger una comida ocasional (g)

Descripció: Aquesta il·lustració representa les increïbles relacions simbiòtiques entre les plantes carnívores dels nepentes i altres animals. Algunes adaptacions notables són, per exemple, entre Nepenthes hemsleyana (fig b.) i el ratpenat Kerivoula hardwickii (fig a.) que utilitza la planta com a lloc per resguardarse a la nit, mentre que la planta recull nitrogen dels excrements del ratpenat. Aquí es representen altres tipus de relacions mutualistes com la que hi ha entre N. bicalcarata (fig c.) i C. schmitzi (fig d.). En la figura (e.) i (f.) es pot veure l'anomenada nepenthes infauna, una varietat d'organismes com la larva de mosquits i la aranya del cranc (Misumenops nepenthicola), robant de la planta de llançadora. També els crancs (Geosarma sp.) s'aventuren dins dels llançadors per agafar un àpat ocasional (g).

Description: This illustration represent the incredible symbiotic relationships between the Nepenthes carnivorous plants and other animals. Some remarkable adaptations are, for example, between the Nepenthes hemsleyana (fig b.) and Kerivoula hardwickii bat (fig a.) that uses the plant as a roosting site for the night, while the plant collect nitrogen from the bat's excrements. Other types of mutualistic relationships are here depicted such as the one between N. bicalcarata (fig c.) e C. schmitzi (fig d.). In figure (e.) and (f.) we can see the so called nepenthes infauna, a variety of organisms such as fly and mosquitoes larvae and the crab spider (Misumenops nepenthicola), stealing from the pitcher plant. Also crabs (Geosarma sp.) venture inside the pitchers to grab an occasional meal (g.)
