Descripción: Syrmaticus mikado, known as Taiwan emperor pheasant, is a unique long-tailed Pheasant bird in Taiwan. One of the Taiwan-endemic pheasants on the Red List of Threatened Species of the International Union for Conservation of Nature. They live in the mixed coniferous and broad-leaved forests and coniferous forests with steep slopes in the high-altitude mountainous areas. The emperor pheasant is only found in the Central Mountains and Snow Mountains of Taiwan and is in the mixed areas of primitive coniferous forests and grasslands at an altitude of 1600 meters to 3300 meters. The whole body of male Taiwan Emperor Pheasant is pure black feathers with violet-blue. Female are olive-brown, with black horizontal spots on the tail feathers.
