Título: Heronry - Herons and other associated birds in habitat

Descripción: Several species of herons with colonial habits, and other associated birds, collectively nest in the heronry. The heronries are usually located on trees and shrubs near bodies of water, natural or artificial, or in marshy areas inside the reeds. If not disturbed, herons return to nest in the same place for centuries. In this illustration, eight species of birds are depicted: the grey heron (Ardea cinerea), the western cattle egret (Bubulcus ibis), the little egret (Egretta garzetta), the black-crowned night heron (Nycticorax nycticorax), the squacco heron (Ardeola ralloides), the great cormorant (Phalacrocorax carbo), the purple heron (Ardea purpurea) and the little bittern (Ixobrychus minutus).
