However, as it transitions from childhood to adult life, a metamorphosis will occur — old organs and tissues will change or disappear altogether, and new ones will take their place. The animal will change not only its appearance but also its way of life. These changes are so extensive that, in a literal sense, one animal disappears and another appears in its place.
